Minaxi’s new body of work, The Reverberating Sound of an Absent Metropolis delves into the ruins of a civilization haunted by the ghosts of its past, a society once vibrant and alive, now reduced to a somber reflection of its former self. In this desolate landscape marred by war, greed, distrust, tension and loneliness, the album digs into the human psyche, exploring the fundamental question: Can one still nurture hope and love in their hearts amidst such overwhelming despair?

The album intricately weaves a narrative that simultaneously showcases the dark side of humanity and the enduring resilience of the human spirit. It suggests that while humans are responsible for the collapse of society and their habitat throughout history, the empty spaces in these ruins create fertile ground for a glimmer of light; that human experience is cyclical and what has happened before will recur until a different choice is made; that solace can be found in love; and that death, while the ultimate truth of life, does not erase one’s existence. Instead, people live on through memories, dreams, and shared connections even after they have passed.

A Hindi shoegaze sound that’s unlikely to be found anywhere else in the world Anurag Tagat, Rolling Stone India.

...and that's a fair assessment of Minaxi, that they're their own animal. They do straddle the lines of what some may find familiar while including plenty of the unexpected in their rhythms, tunings and approaches to the traditional. And being original is a beautiful thing when the music is this exciting and invigorating.

Bandcamp Reviews:
• A forward thinking work, viewed through the eyes of late 1980s shoegaze & dream pop.
• This album so effortlessly feels both classic and new from the very beginning.
• If you see a fish floating along in the water don't bite it. Let it drift on by. Drift on by.
• This album finds a balance between the structurally-detailed bombast of post-rock and the dopamine rush of classic shoegaze.
• Blue, has been given an emotion, and a colour, and now has a sound. The album bathes you in the sonic guitars and instruments that flow together like a summer storm. Simply put? this album has become the new soundtrack to my summer, and many seasons to come. You become a better person after experiencing it.
