The collection of songs on sialia traverses diverse sonic universes progressively. Combining live instrumentation with synthesized electronic and organic ambient sounds, the EP broadly represents the genres of alternative rock, dream pop, electronica and ambient music.

Unlike Minaxi’s previous body of work, 'sialia' does not have an inherent concept; what ties the songs together despite the fluidity of genres is the unifying emotion—the one which drives the themes of love, detachment, self-ascension and nostalgia; the one which is delivered bilingually through the voices of Shrenik Ganatra and Liam Christian, intensified by Steve Carlin’s drumming and supported by guest musicians Milan Ganatra and Luke Santy; the one which beckons the band’s evolution into the forthcoming body of work.

Will Wilkinson, Rats on the Run: To call it ‘Alt-Rock’s a disservice. We play the soft grinds of Slowdive with the agro of Ride, but this is no 90’s revival. There’s both a new calm and pace to 'sialia', there’s as much Cocteau Valentine as there is Four-Tet wonder, especially in ‘sialia’s remixes.

This is an incredible collection of songs. Barsaate might be my favorite of the bunch, but This Town is running in a very close second place. The mixing on the entire project is absolutely top notch, the sound design overwhelms you in the best way possible & the whole collection is just filled with fresh, majestic ideas layered on to already-haunting genres of music.
• I love this album, each song offers something different within a similar sound.
• A perfect example of the modern shoegaze soundscape.
• there's just something magical about hearing such a calming song in a language i don't understand that is so beautiful. the way the vocals float across the ambient and dreamy soundscape that is so familiar and comforting.
